Atlanta Global Partnerships (AGP) — a program through Emory Global Engagement — will host a spring 2025 Emory U.S. Passport Day for university faculty, staff and students. The event is presented in collaboration with Georgia State University Passport Services, Atlanta Passport Agency and Delta Air Lines.

Emory U.S. Passport Day is hosted as part of the Emory Free Passport Initiative (EFPI). To enhance student flourishing and promote equitable access to global opportunities, EFPI covers U.S. passport fees for currently enrolled students receiving financial aid who apply to the program and are accepted. Since the start of the initiative in April 2023, more than 600 free passports have been provided to students in the Atlanta area.

To apply for a new passport during Emory U.S. Passport Day, Emory faculty, staff and students can register online to access a convenient, on-campus appointment with a dedicated passport professional who will handle application review, payment processing and application submission.

Appointments will be available to first time passport applicants only.

Passport renewals can be done online. Those interested in renewing can visit the U.S. Department of State’s website to determine their eligibility for a renewal by mail or online.

While passport photo services will be available on Emory U.S. Passport Day for new applicants, please note that Emory faculty, staff and students can obtain a passport photo at EmoryCard anytime during their regular office hours.

Applicants will need to bring several items to their appointment:

  • A printed, completed application for a U.S. Passport (DS-11 for new applications)
  • Check or money order
  • Valid ID (driver's license or Emory ID)
  • Proof of citizenship (photocopies or pictures will NOT be accepted)
  • Original name change documentation (if applicable)
  • 2 x 2-inch passport photo
  • The associated S. passport fees must be paid on the day of the event:
    • A money order or check (made out to the U.S. Department of State) for the application fee.
    • Payment of any kind for photo and execution (acceptance) fee.

Visit the U.S. Department of State website or call (877) 487-2778 for more information on passport requirements.
