Appointments are not needed for passport renewals. Renewal applications that are brought to Emory Passport Day will be dealt with on a first come, first served basis to mail it out, obtain a passport photo or get an application form. Please visit this website to determine your eligibility for a renewal by mail or online.
The associated U.S. passport fees must be paid by check or money order on the day of the event.
Applicants need to bring several items to their appointment or drop-off:
- A printed, completed application for a U.S. Passport (DS-11 for new applications or DS-82 for renewals)
- Check or money order
- Valid ID (driver's license or Emory ID)
- Proof of citizenship (photocopies or pictures will not be accepted)
- Original name change documentation (if applicable)
- 2 x 2-inch passport photo
EmoryCard Office team members will be on site during Passport Day events to issue passport photos to Emory faculty, staff and students (for a fee). Passport photos can also be obtained at other businesses.
Emory Passport Day events are hosted as part of the Emory Free Passport Initiative (EFPI). To enhance student flourishing and promote equitable access to global opportunities, Emory’s Free Passport Initiative covers U.S. passport fees for currently enrolled students receiving financial aid. Since the initiative began in April 2023, 121 free passports have been provided to Emory students (with 180 total passports processed).
With the generous support of Delta Air Lines, EFPI is once again covering U.S. passport application fees for a select group of students who receive financial aid. Through AGP, this gift from Delta Air Lines supports the provision of 350 passports across the 7 colleges and universities in the Atlanta metro area, that are part of the AGREC consortium, including Agnes Scott College, Atlanta Metropolitan College, Clark Atlanta University, Emory University, Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University and Spelman College.
Visit the U.S. Department of State website or call (877) 487-2778 for more information on passport requirements.
