Currently enrolled Emory students who receive financial aid can apply to the Emory Free Passport Initiative (EFPI), a program through Emory Global Engagement. Applications will be accepted until Friday, Oct. 17.
As one way to enhance student flourishing and promote equitable access to global opportunities, EFPI covers U.S. passport fees for a limited number of currently enrolled students receiving financial aid. The initiative is made possible through the generous support of Delta Air Lines, which works in partnership with seven higher education institutions in the metro Atlanta area through the Atlanta Global Research and Education Collaborative (AGREC).
More than 600 free passports have been provided to students across the Atlanta area since the program began in April 2023, showing that Delta Air Lines continues to expand access to global opportunities for students.
Applicants who are accepted for the EFPI are required to attend an information session and will be scheduled for a dedicated appointment during an Emory U.S. Passport Day. They will also be required to present proof of U.S. citizenship (original or official certified birth certificate, not a photocopy) during their appointments. Priority will be given to first-time applicants for a U.S. passport.
Emory U.S. Passport Day
In tandem with the EFPI program, Emory Global Engagement will host several Emory U.S. Passport Days during the academic year. The events allow university faculty, staff and students — as well as the larger Emory community — to make convenient passport processing appointments on both the Atlanta and Oxford College campuses.
Emory community members who do not qualify for EFPI can make an appointment for an Emory U.S. Passport Day, but the associated passport fees will be the responsibility of the applicant. More information on the fall Emory U.S. Passport Days will be released closer to the dates, and appointment scheduling will open on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
2025-2026 Emory U.S. Passport Days:

Community members also can sponsor a student’s $170 passport fee ($130 passport book, $35 processing fee and $5 photo) by donating to a designated fund in conjunction with Emory Global Student Travel Support.
