Emory University announced today that the process for appointing its next executive vice president for academic affairs and provost will extend into the summer. Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Lanny Liebeskind will continue in his role until Emory’s next provost begins their tenure.

“Dr. Lanny Liebeskind’s leadership as interim provost has been defined by his thoughtfulness and, with his long experience at Emory, a strong understanding of the needs and ambitions of Emory faculty members and students,” says Emory President Gregory L. Fenves. “As the process to hire Emory’s next provost continues, the university’s academic mission is in very good hands with Dr. Liebeskind. I deeply appreciate the commitment he has made by extending his service to Emory in this crucial role.”
