Emory has launched a search for a new senior vice president and chief human resources officer to lead all aspects of human resources across the university.

The position will be filled following the retirements of Del King and Theresa Milazzo, who currently serve as co-vice presidents for human resources. The search will be conducted in partnership with Russell Reynolds Associates.

Reporting to Christopher L. Augostini, Emory’s executive vice president for business and administration and enterprise chief financial officer, the chief human resources officer will oversee talent acquisition and development, employee relations, policy, compensation, organizational development, talent management, benefits, wellness and human resources information systems.

Augostini will serve as chair of the search advisory committee, which includes the following members:

  • Badia Ahad, dean, Oxford College
  • Carol Henderson, vice provost, diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer
  • Mindy Simon, associate general counsel
  • Cliff Teague, executive administrator, human resources, School of Medicine
  • Susan Bonifield, senior vice provost, strategic finance and resource planning
  • Debby Morey, vice president, business operations
  • David Forbes, associate vice president, campus services
  • Danielle Miller, chief of staff, Office of the President
  • Sara Shockley, chief of staff, human resources, Emory Healthcare
  • Shervon Lewis, president, Emory Staff Council

Wanda Hayes, talent management and executive development advisor in Emory’s Office of Business and Administration, will partner with the search advisory committee and the Russell Reynolds Associates team as they “diligently work to identify a strong candidate who can continue to uphold our values and drive our mission forward,” Augostini says. “We are confident that this process will yield a leader who will contribute significantly to Emory’s success.”
