Photos: Emory celebrates College Colors Day

Over Labor Day weekend, Emory celebrated College Colors Day, a national event that recognizes the spirit of college life. Students, staff and faculty dressed in their favorite Emory gear and gathered on the Atlanta campus Quad for a pop-up event with photos and treats, cheered on the volleyball and soccer teams during Gold Rush Tailgate weekend, and celebrated what it means to be an Eagle.

There was plenty to celebrate as the fall sports season is off to a strong start: Playing at home at Emory, women’s volleyball won all three games over the weekend, women’s soccer won against Piedmont on Friday and the men’s soccer team tied against Covenant on Friday and against Washington and Lee on Saturday.

Additionally, on the road, the women’s golf team won gold at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational, hosted by Denison University, and men’s and women’s cross country had their first races of the season. Check out the calendars from Emory Athletics and Oxford Athletics to catch an upcoming match.
