Today was scheduled to be the first day of spring semester classes for Emory’s undergraduate students, but instead, the campus was quiet and beautiful this morning, as the university closed due to snow and frigid temperatures.
By afternoon, students were out enjoying the snow, while Emory staff members worked around the clock to keep the campus safe and provide necessary services. Emory University will also remain closed on Thursday.
While snow is uncommon in Atlanta, this was the second snowfall of the academic year. The university also closed early Dec. 8 when a rare early storm blanketed the campus in white, delaying the end of first-semester final exams.
