Emory Puerto Rican Student Association GoFundMe campaign
Emory’s Puerto Rican Student Association has helped raise more than $165,000 to aid in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, joining more than 100 colleges and universities throughout the nation in support of “Students With Puerto Rico,” a GoFundMe campaign to support Unidos por Puerto Rico, a public-private initiative launched by the office of Puerto Rico First Lady Beatriz Isabel Roselló and a group of companies to help victims of the massive storm.
Through a social media campaign, messages posted around campus, and a table at Wonderful Wednesday, the Emory Puerto Rican Student Association has been raising awareness of the crisis and collecting donations to benefit the national GoFundMe campaign, which recently received a $20,000 donation from Jimmy Fallon.
