Steeped in ceremony and tradition, Emory Convocation marks the official start of the academic year.

Held Tuesday, Aug. 22, in the Woodruff Physical Education Center, the event began with a bagpipe procession of faculty, deans and other university leaders and closed with the singing of the alma mater.
