After three years studying science at Emory University, six Tibetan Buddhist monks are wrapping up their college careers and preparing to head back to their monasteries in Dharamsala, India. They're part of the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative. A vision of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the goal is to bring modern science to monastic education and to integrate east and west traditions to bring his monks and nuns into the 21st century. These monks will take their newfound scientific knowledge back to India and help teach other monks and nuns science.
