Mellon Foundation awards Emory $1.8 million to expand ethical AI research

The Mellon Foundation funds will help support the Atlanta Interdisciplinary AI Network and advance ethical, human-centered AI research related to community partnerships, education and more. Emory professor Lauren Klein is the grant’s principal investigator.

How does the food on our plates connect to local economic resilience, environmental stewardship and student well-being? Daniel Parson, farmer educator at the Oxford College Organic Farm, joins Kimberly Eck on the Impact in Progress podcast to discuss all that and more.

Established in 2014, the 11-acre farm supplies fresh, seasonal food to campus dining halls, hospital cafeterias, local farmers markets and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) members.
