2026 American Academy of Nursing Fellows to include eight Emory inductees
Eight members of the Emory University community will be inducted into the American Academy of Nursing’s 2026 Class of Fellows in recognition of their substantial contributions to improving health and transforming healthcare. Induction into AAN is one of the nursing profession’s highest honors.
Emory alum’s choreography set for festival curated by ballet icon Misty Copeland
The Joyce Ballet Festival, which celebrates the best and brightest in dance, will include a piece choreographed and performed by a 2025 Emory College graduate. The festival will be held in New York in August.
Scientists solve mystery of how muscle cells grow and stay healthy
Emory biophysicists Shashank Shekhar and Sudipta Biswas unraveled a mystery about muscles that may help in the design of treatments for muscle diseases such as dilated cardiomyopathy, one of the leading causes of heart failure.
Rose Library highlights Black poet writing at eve of independence
The nation’s 250th anniversary is an ideal time to reflect on the legacy of Phillis Wheatley Peters, an African American poet during Colonial times. Emory’s Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book Library maintains a collection of her work.
