The Emory Global Health Institute is holding a photography contest for students to submit images they have taken while on a global health trip to a developing country.
The deadline for submission is Monday, Sept. 23.
"The contest challenges students to use photography to increase their understanding of complex global health issues and the people who are most affected by them," says Rebecca Baggett, the Institute's communications and program manager.
Pictures must have been taken between Sept. 1, 2012 to Sept.1, 2013. Students can submit up to three photographs, which must be accompanied with a description of the image.

A $500 cash prize will be awarded for the top five photographs.
Winners will be judged by the photograph's ability to provoke a message related to global health, as well as its technical and artistic merits.
