Acclaimed author Salman Rushdie, tech entrepreneur Vivek Wadhwa, and Atlanta's first Consul General of India Ajit Kumar are among the speakers at the fourth annual India Summit Feb. 21-22 at Emory University. The event features panels on mobile technology in health care, literature, entrepreneurship, international commerce and more.
The India Summit, hosted by Emory's Claus M. Halle Institute for Global Learning, is scheduled from noon to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 at White Hall, 301 Dowman Drive, and from 9:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at Rollins School of Public Health, 1518 Clifton Rd.
A diverse lineup of business leaders, government officials, medical experts and scholars from a variety of fields will participate in the event. Speakers include:
- Manoj Jain, a national leader in healthcare quality improvement and infectious disease physician who writes regularly for The Washington Post;
- Devendra Chawla, Rakesh Biyani and Sunil Biyani of Future Group, a successful retail empire in India;
- K.V. Eapen, senior adviser at the World Bank, specializing in financial inclusion for India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan; and
- Madhu Deshmukh, director of special initiatives for mHealth at CARE USA.

Tickets
Tickets are $15 for a one-day pass or $25 for a two-day pass. Admission is free for Emory students and employees. Attendees should register for tickets online.
