As the election year heats up, Emory University political science professor Andra Gillespie says the eventual Republican nominee and President Obama may likely face the same challenge in November: lack of voter enthusiasm and diminished turnout compared to 2008.
Gillespie analyzes what to expect in New Hampshire and other upcoming Republican primaries, and emerging trends and challenges for both parties:
Gillespie, an expert on political participation and mobilization whose recent research examines “post-racial” African American leadership, is author of the forthcoming book, “The New Black Politician: Cory Booker, Newark and Post-Racial America.”
