Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Badia Ahad announced this week several transitions in Emory University's Office of Enrollment Management to strengthen cross-campus coordination and support a seamless experience for undergraduates throughout the enrollment process.
Effective Jan. 15, Kelley Lips will serve as vice provost for enrollment, undergraduate admissions, with responsibility for admissions for both Emory College of Arts and Sciences and Oxford College. With more than two decades of experience in student recruitment and enrollment at Emory, most recently as associate vice provost and dean of Oxford College Enrollment Services, Lips will oversee the admissions offices for both colleges.

John Leach will serve as vice provost for enrollment, student financial services and registration, and oversee the Office of Financial Aid, Student Accounts and Billing Office and the Office of the University Registrar. Formerly the associate vice provost for enrollment and university financial aid, Leach brings more than a decade of service to Emory and a demonstrated commitment to the stewardship of university resources in support of student access and success.
“Designed to reflect Emory’s distinctive undergraduate landscape, including multiple entry points and schools, this new model for Enrollment Management will foster clear accountability, strong coordination and strategic stewardship of enrollment across the institution,” Ahad said. “Working in close partnership with deans and university leadership, these roles will align admissions, financial aid, registrar and student support systems through transparent, data-informed planning tied to both academic priorities and budget cycles.”
Integrating enrollment and student success strategies will position Emory well to continue innovating across recruitment and retention initiatives, to expand access and to ensure students are supported throughout their academic journey, she noted.
“I look forward to working with Kelley, John, our Enrollment Management team members and partners across the university as they carry forward this important work in support of Emory’s academic mission and long-term success,” Ahad added.
