Refresh from stress this holiday season

The holiday season can be stressful for everyone. Emory has resources available to help university and health care employees manage the stress — and chances to win prizes while doing it.

The holiday season is one of busiest times of the year and can bring joy but also stress. Common holiday stress includes financial pressures, unmet expectations from self and others, and grief reactions.  Unmanaged stress can affect sleep, relationships, and work productivity. Emory University and Emory Healthcare employees have resources to help manage stress. The resources are listed below to assist employees manage stress and improve their well-being.


Resources for Emory University employees  

The Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) is offering the Holiday Refresh From Stress to help you recharge and find balance during this holiday season. This four-week program (Sunday, Nov. 16-Saturday, Dec. 13) is designed to help you stay calm, connected, and energized.


How to Participate

Use the Holiday Refresh From Stress calendar to follow along with the daily and weekly activities throughout the program. Click on the title of each activity on the calendar to register or participate. Save the calendar to your computer for easy reference.

Week 1 (Nov. 16-22): Complete at least 4 days in the Give Thanks Challenge on Healthy Emory Connect (Sharecare)*. Each day you will log in and answer the question, “Did you take time to reflect on at least one thing you are grateful for today?”

Week 2 (Nov. 23-29): Complete at least 4 activities to help you relax, relate and release. Use the Holiday Refresh From Stress calendar to select your activities.

Week 3 (Nov. 30-Dec. 6): Complete at least 4 days in the Relax Your Mind Challenge on Healthy Emory Connect (Sharecare)*. Each day, you will log in and answer the question, “How often did you experience stress at home or work?”

Week 4 (Dec. 7-13): Complete at least 4 activities designed to enhance motivation and movement. Use the Holiday Refresh From Stress calendar to select your activities.

Participants can earn raffle entries for a chance to win prizes!

*Sign in to healthyemory.sharecare.com or the Healthy Emory Connect (Sharecare) app, then click Achieve > Challenges.

Resources for Emory Healthcare employees

From Monday, Dec. 1, through Sunday, Dec. 21, Emory Healthcare employees are encouraged to participate in Holiday Harmony, a stress-tracking initiative designed to promote mindfulness and emotional well-being. Track your stress for at least 14 days using the Healthy Emory Connect (Sharecare) app or website.


How to Participate 

  1. Log in or register at healthyemory.sharecare.com
  2. Tap Achieve > Challenges > Holiday Harmony > Join Challenge. 
  3. Track your stress daily for 14 days between Dec. 1-Dec. 21. 

Those who complete all 14 days will earn a raffle entry for a chance to win one of several prizes, including a personal training or massage therapy session.

Missed a day of tracking? No problem, participants can go back up to seven days during the challenge period.  

In addition to the Holiday Harmony program, Revive & Thrive is available to support Emory Healthcare employees throughout the holidays. This confidential program offers 24/7 support to Emory Healthcare employees and their dependents. Revive & Thrive offers the following:

  • Career resources
