Strong social connections can improve your mood, strengthen your immune system and even help you live longer. Well-being isn’t just about nutrition and exercise; it’s also about the relationships we build and the communities we create.

That’s why Healthy Emory hosts the annual Move Together Team Challenge, bringing employees together to support mental and emotional, physical, and social and community well-being through shared goals and connection.

Join colleagues across Emory for this month-long challenge during October. Whether you walk, garden, cycle or stretch, doing it with a team adds motivation, accountability and fun. So, grab your coworkers, form a team and let’s move together toward $100 medical plan incentives or rewards.

What’s in it for eligible participants?

The Move Together Team Challenge is one component of the Community Challenge that began in September through Healthy Emory Connect.

Participants who complete these five campaign activities by Oct. 31 will earn a $100 medical plan incentive or reward:

  1. Read: “Do social butterflies live longer?”
  2. Read: “How relationships influence your health.”
  3. Watch: “Why relationships are the highest form of mindfulness practice.”
  4. Watch: “Four ways to fight loneliness and build community.”
  5. Complete the “Move Together Team Challenge” by joining a team and tracking 630 minutes of physical activity from Oct. 1-31. Track your progress on Healthy Emory Connect by linking a compatible device or manually entering your activity.

Tip: Make getting your minutes in even easier by joining a Healthy Emory Walking Group.

Don’t miss this opportunity to prioritize connecting with your coworkers and developing your community — all while getting rewarded. To get started, log in to Healthy Emory Connect and click the “Complete 5 Social and Community Activities” tile.
