Did you know that strong social connections are vital for your health and happiness? Creating and nurturing healthy relationships can boost your mood, strengthen your immune system, increase longevity and foster a sense of belonging.

For Emory faculty and staff seeking to improve their well-being, the annual Community Challenge — open through Oct. 31 — is an opportunity to start. The challenge is open to all benefits-eligible employees, as well as spouses on an Emory medical plan.

This challenge focuses on building community one step at a time, whether it’s through nurturing healthy relationships with those closest to you, working out with a team or finding your inner self.

What’s in it for eligible participants?

Participants in the Community Challenge through Healthy Emory Connect will have the chance to strengthen social connections, improve overall well-being and earn rewards.

Complete these five campaign activities by Oct. 31 to earn a $100 medical plan incentive or reward:

  1. Read: “Do social butterflies live longer?”
  2. Read: “How relationships influence your health.”
  3. Watch: “Why relationships are the highest form of mindfulness practice.”
  4. Watch: “Four ways to fight loneliness and build community.”
  5. Complete the “Move Together Team Challenge” by joining a team and tracking 630 minutes of physical activity from Oct. 1-31.

Let the new fall season be an opportunity to boost your well-being and deepen your social connections, all while being rewarded.

To get started, simply log in to Healthy Emory Connect and click the “Complete 5 Social and Community Activities” tile.
