Photos: First-year students express pride in their residence halls through Songfest

The Woodruff PE Center came alive on Aug. 28 as Emory’s newest students brought music, energy and creativity to the stage during one of the university’s beloved traditions: Songfest.

Students from each residence hall performed a custom song highlighting life in their new home, turning the event into a showcase of talent, pride and Emory spirit.

For the second year in a row, Alabama and Dobbs Halls (also known as Aladobbs) took home the trophy, with Turman and Hamilton Holmes Halls (also known as Turmilton) placing as first runner-up.

Harris Hall won the T-shirt contest and Aladobbs won the banner contest. Emory administrators served as judges for the event.
