New students and family members gathered in Mumbai for the Passport to Emory program, a chance for incoming students to meet staff and other university representatives.

This summer, International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) hosted Passport to Emory, an annual program for newly admitted students who will begin their undergraduate, graduate or professional programs at Emory in the fall.

As an in-country pre-departure and yield program for new international students and their families, Passport to Emory offers helpful information related to the university, immigration, campus resources, cultural awareness and much more.

Emory is home to outstanding students from around the globe. Students from all nine Emory schools were invited to participate in this year’s events, which took place in Hong Kong, Mumbai and Seoul.

Priyanka Gupte, an incoming undergraduate student, expressed her appreciation to Emory for hosting Passport to Emory. “I learned a lot of valuable information that will undoubtedly make my move to Emory go much more smoothly,” she said.

“I am delighted that Emory offers incoming students and their families an opportunity to learn more about Emory and reduce their anxieties about beginning their studies in the U.S.,” said Shinn Ko, assistant vice provost of ISSS.

The Passport to Emory program enhances the student experience and generates excitement for Emory as their academic destination. Check the ISSS website for upcoming announcements about the 2026 Passport to Emory program and other events highlighting Emory’s international community.
