Emory has introduced a new video training module focused on Policy 1.3, the university’s equal employment and discriminatory harassment policy. It is the latest university effort to foster a safe, respectful and inclusive campus environment following the announcement of an updated Policy 1.3 in May, which streamlined the complaint filing process by implementing a new online reporting tool, consolidating investigatory authority and clarifying the adjudication, sanctioning and appeals processes.

Developed by Emory’s Department of Equity and Civil Rights Compliance (DECRC), the module is now available to all students on Canvas. Similar training will soon be made available to faculty and staff.

This initiative underscores Emory’s commitment to ensuring every community member is protected from discrimination and harassment. The brief training aims to:

  • Clarify the protections offered under Policy 1.3 for students, faculty and staff
  • Encourage collective responsibility in standing against discriminatory behavior
  • Provide clear guidance on how to file a complaint with the DECRC

“This training represents an ongoing promise by Emory to uphold the values of equity and respect,” says Jean-Jacques Credi, assistant director of educational programs. “It reflects our shared responsibility to create a community where everyone can thrive.”

All students can complete the optional training and join in the effort to build a stronger, more inclusive campus.

To access the training, visit Canvas.
