Emory Williams Awards recognize outstanding undergraduate teaching

The Emory Williams Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching Award is presented to faculty members from each of Emory’s four undergraduate schools during Commencement every year. 

The award was established by Emory Williams, a 1932 Emory College alumnus and longtime trustee, to recognize a record of excellence in undergraduate teaching.  

Emory College of Arts and Sciences selects three award recipients, drawn from the humanities, sciences and social sciences. Each of the other undergraduate schools — Goizueta Business School, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and Oxford College — selects one award recipient.  

The 2025 honorees are:  

  • Marina Cooley, associate professor in the practice of marketing, Goizueta Business School 
  • Shaunna Donaher, associate teaching professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, Emory College of Arts and Sciences 
  • Andrew Kazama, associate teaching professor, Departments of Psychology and Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology, Emory College of Arts and Sciences 
  • Danielle Larkin, assistant clinical professor, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing 
  • Geoffrey Levin, assistant professor, Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies and Tam Institute for Jewish Studies, Emory College of Arts and Sciences 
  • Gwendolynne Reid, associate professor of English and director of the writing and communication program, Oxford College of Emory University
