Alistair Erskine, chief information and digital officer, will leave Emory on June 30. As part of this leadership transition, Emory will return to having two chief information and digital officers — one dedicated to Emory Healthcare and one to Emory University.
The leadership transition was announced April 25 by Joon S. Lee, CEO of Emory Healthcare, and Christopher L. Augostini, Emory’s executive vice president for business and administration, enterprise chief financial officer, and vice chair of the Emory Healthcare Board of Directors.
Lee and Augostini thanked Erskine for the contributions he has made in advancing Emory’s digital and information capabilities, noting critical progress in strengthening technology infrastructure and building the foundation for Emory’s ongoing digital transformation.
Moving forward, Laura Fultz will serve as interim IT leader for Emory Healthcare and Dana Haggas will serve as interim IT leader for Emory University, with Erskine working closely with them in an advisory function until his departure from Emory.
“Reinstating separate leadership will enable more focused oversight, streamlined decision-making and continued progress on key digital priorities across both institutions during this transition,” Lee and Augostini explained.
While this leadership transition is underway, Emory’s digital transformation will continue without disruption, they emphasized.
“What remains constant is the high-performing team supporting digital — leaders and professionals who are aligned with our strategy and fully prepared to carry this work forward. … We remain fully committed to advancing our digital strategy to better support our care teams, enhance patient experience, strengthen our academic and research mission, and modernize how we operate across the entire enterprise,” Lee and Augostini said.
