The University Senate, comprised of representatives from across Emory University, is an essential component of university governance.

Applications are open until Friday, March 21, for several committees of the University Senate for the 2025-26 session. The current standing committees are:

  • Athletics and Recreation
  • Campus Development
  • Campus Life
  • Environment
  • Fringe Benefits
  • Governance
  • Honorary Degrees
  • Libraries and Museum
  • Open Expression

Each committee addresses issues related to specific topics and reports back before the full University Senate. Membership on these committees is not limited to elected or appointed members of the Senate.

Committee members serve one-year terms. Visit the University Senate’s website to learn more about the work of standing committees and to find related contacts and information.

Those interested in serving on a committee (or committees) should upload a short statement of interest and a CV/resume by Friday, March 21.
