On Tuesday, Feb. 25, and Wednesday, Feb. 26, Emory students can cast their votes for the university’s new EmoryCard design. Students can drop by the voting pop-up between 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. to choose among the card designs. The voting pop-up will be in the Commons outside the Eagle Emporium in the Emory Student Center (ESC).
The newly designed EmoryCard will be issued first to all incoming students in fall 2025. Later in the year, returning students, as well as faculty and staff, will be invited to swap their existing cards for the new version.
“EmoryCard plays an important role in our students’ daily lives,” says Kim Pfeffer, EmoryCard director. “It’s only appropriate that students weigh in on the design of the new card that they will carry and use countless times throughout their Emory journey.”
The new card designs were created by the Emory Communications and Marketing creative strategy team.
EmoryCard, the university’s official identification card, is the key to the Emory experience for every member of the university community through secure, convenient and efficient access to events, goods and services. The card offers an array of community-wide services annually to more than 50,000 cardholders, several campus systems and numerous campus locations.
“In addition to providing the EmoryCard, our team continually strives to enhance use of the card for students and all other members of the university community,” says Pfeffer.
During fall 2024, EmoryCard launched a program to make it easier and quicker to replace a card. Students can now request replacements by visiting an EmoryCard station on the 2nd floor of the North Tower of the Emory Student Center, near the elevator. This centrally located station is an alternative to visiting the EmoryCard Office in the Boisfeuillet Jones Center across campus.
In early spring 2023, the EmoryCard Lost and Found Program introduced new drop boxes in four conveniently located buildings — the ESC, Few Hall, Transportation and Parking Services, and Woodruff Memorial Library, in addition to the existing drop box at the EmoryCard Office in the Boisfeuillet Jones Center. The goal is to return cards before their “owners” must purchase replacement cards.
