New website launches as hub for Emory’s entrepreneurship and innovation resources
TBD

The team charged with integrating and elevating Emory’s entrepreneurship and innovation efforts has launched a new website dedicated to promoting the array of resources available for the university community.

The website, which connects faculty, staff, students and learners with existing programs, personnel and resources on campus and in Atlanta, provides specific pathways and guides for those involved in either drug development or software, devices and other innovations.

“We are excited about launching this new hub that allows faculty and students to visualize the entrepreneurship and innovation pipeline at Emory, regardless of where they are in their journey,” says Wilbur Lam, an inventor and professor in the School of Medicine who was named the university’s inaugural vice provost for entrepreneurship earlier this year.

“Our innovation ecosystem is vast and robust with great work being done across our campuses. By highlighting our resources in a centrally located, online platform, we hope to build connections and spark entrepreneurial pursuits within our community.”

When Lam was appointed in April, he was tasked with fostering a vibrant startup culture across the enterprise — both Emory University and Emory Healthcare — and integrating innovation into the overall academic experience. Part of the work has included engaging with leaders, schools and units to create and promote defined pathways for faculty and student entrepreneurship.

For students, there are several resources including the Roberto C. Goizueta Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and The Hatchery, offering mentorship and support for those eager to translate ideas into marketable products and services. Since its founding in 2020, The Hatchery has supported more than 200 student ventures and launched more than 60.

With simplified access to the Emory entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, faculty now have step-by-step guides for how to develop promising new pharmaceuticals, devices, software, diagnostics and other inventions from early stages into viable products and services. Each pathway includes resource links for Emory units like the Office of Transfer Technology, Center for New Medicines and Emory Entrepreneurship Clinic, among others.

Visit the Entrepreneurship and Innovation website to learn more about resources, programs and events available to the Emory community.
