On Friday, April 26, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is scheduled to begin a 90-day project that will cause significant traffic and delays in the area near Executive Park and impact drivers who commute to and from Emory University using North Druid Hills Road. The construction includes replacing the bridge over Peachtree Creek in DeKalb County.

GDOT developed an overview of the project near the I-85 at North Druid Hills interchange, including maps detailing construction in Brookhaven and a 5-mile detour route.

The work includes:

  • Adding a “displaced left turn” for the westbound to southbound movement
  • Constructing an additional bridge over I-85
  • Adding a braided ramp from the I-85 northbound (NB) off-ramp to the I-85 NB access road
  • Replacing the Georgia Highway 42/North Druid Hills Road bridge over Peachtree Creek

Drivers are encouraged to leave early and expect delays during their commutes.
