Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Awards honor excellence in graduate, professional school faculty

The Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professional Education recognizes outstanding scholars who excel as teachers within formal and informal educational settings.

One faculty member in each of Emory’s seven graduate and professional schools is given the award in recognition of the important role of exceptional teaching in graduate and professional education.  

The 2023 honorees are:

  • Rajiv Garg, associate professor of information systems and operations management, Goizueta Business School
  • Amanda I. Gillespie, associate professor of otolaryngology, School of Medicine
  • Kimberly Bob Sessions Hagen, assistant research professor, Rollins School of Public Health
  • Joel B. Kemp, assistant professor of Hebrew Bible, Candler School of Theology
  • Emmanuel Y. Lartey, Charles Howard Candler Professor of Pastoral Theology and Spiritual Care, James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies
  • Matthew B. Lawrence, associate professor of law, School of Law
  • Erica Moore, assistant professor of nursing, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing
