It’s time for Champions Weekend WinterFest, a chance to enjoy being back on campus while celebrating some of Emory’s great athletic teams. Presented by Emory Athletics in collaboration with the Student Programming Council and Dooley After Dark, three days of festivities are planned.

The fun begins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, with a free food truck tailgate, free t-shirts, a Delta gift card raffle and halftime contests. Then, the women’s basketball team competes against Carnegie Mellon University at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.

Both teams have enjoyed early-season success. The women’s team is currently 8-2 and ranked 23rd in the WBCA coaches poll. The men’s team is 10-2 and ranked 16th in the d3hoops.com national rankings.

On Saturday, Jan. 14, cheer on the swimming and diving teams as they compete against Emmanuel College at 11 a.m. and snag t-shirts, pom poms, Emory laptop stickers and Emory tattoos — all for free.

Swimming and diving is ramping up for the UAA Championships next month and is among the top-ranked teams according to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America. As of the most recent poll in December, the men’s team is ranked first and the women’s team is ranked second.

Finally, on Sunday, Jan. 15, support the Eagles as they take on Case Western Reserve University with men’s basketball at 12 p.m. and the women’s game at 2 p.m. The first 100 students will score free Swoop beanie hats.

All events take place at the Woodruff P.E. Center and are free.
