New medical students learn the ins and outs of campus

Emory’s first-year medical students (M1s) got familiar with the university’s campus and history — and  Atlanta’s humidity — during a campus-wide scavenger hunt on July 22.

The School of Medicine partnered with Stray Boots to create a fun “hunting” experience similar to the TV show “The Amazing Race.” Twenty teams of students crisscrossed campus on unique routes on a quest to answer 38 questions.

The event began and ended at the School of Medicine. In between, teams hit a dozen campus landmarks including Emory Village, Barnes & Noble, the Quad, the Carlos Museum, Woodruff Library, Emory Student Center, the Depot, Lullwater Preserve, Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, Glenn Memorial Auditorium, Woodruff Circle, Emory University Hospital and WoodPEC. They even stopped at Emory’s largest research building: Health Sciences Research Building II (HSRBII), which is still under construction.

Welcome to Emory, M1s!
