The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) have selected Assistant Professor, Assistant Dean of Graduate Clinical Programs Desiree Clement DNP, APRN, CNM, FNP-BC, FACNM, Adjunct Instructor Christina Calamaro, PhD, CPNP-BC, and alumna Rebekah Stewart, MSN, MPH, APRN into its 2022 Fellowship class. These nurse practitioner (NP) leaders will be inducted on June 23 at the 2022 AANP National Conference in Orlando, Florida.
FAANP inducted 40 nurse practitioner leaders for their national and global health impact and contributions this year. The new Fellows will join an elite and diverse group of 893 NPs who have made — and who continue to make — a positive and profound impact on national and global health.
Dr. Clement has held various roles within healthcare, including hospital, outpatient clinical, and academe. She has experience providing instruction and precepting students from diverse educational backgrounds, including midwifery, nurse practitioner, and medical school programs. She teaches full-time in the Emory Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwifery programs.
In addition to being an Adjunct Instructor, Dr. Calamaro is the Senior Nurse Scientist and Director of Research and evidence-based practice at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Stewart is a Nurse Epidemiologist in the Division of TB Elimination at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Induction into the AANP Fellowship is considered one of the highest honors for nurse practitioners. Fellows are elected through a highly selective process that recognizes nurse practitioner leaders who have made outstanding contributions to health care through clinical practice, research, education, and policy. Established in 2000, the FAANP program recognizes NPs who have made significant accomplishments through clinical practice, research, education, or policy.
