Emory helps serve the community through Emory Cares Day

Several hundred members of the Emory community participated in the 18th annual Emory Cares Day of Service on Saturday, Nov. 13.

Emory students, alumni, faculty and staff and their families volunteered to help with dozens of community projects — from landscaping parks and cleaning up nature areas to packing school supplies and writing encouraging notes  — around Atlanta and beyond. Emory Cares Day 2021 projects reached about 15 U.S. cities; a few international projects will be completed in the coming weeks.

Some initiatives stretch beyond Emory Cares Day and are still open for participation. Visit the project page on the Emory Cares website and filter by date to learn about volunteer opportunities.

Founded in 2003 by Renelda Mack 83C, a former Emory Alumni Board president, the popular annual tradition is a partnership between the Emory Alumni Association and Volunteer Emory.
