The University Research Committee (URC) announces the annual call for proposals for the 2021- 2022 funding cycle in the following categories:
- URC regular award
- URC-Halle Institute for Global Research and Learning International Research Award
All regular, full-time Emory faculty, regardless of rank, are welcome to submit a proposal. Eligibility details may be seen at the URC FAQs webpage.

Each applicant may submit one application selected from one of the following categories:
- Arts: visual and performing
- Biological and health sciences
- Humanities
- Interdisciplinary
- Mathematics and natural sciences
- Social sciences
Each category, with the exception of interdisciplinary, awards a maximum of $30,000 per application. The maximum Interdisciplinary award is $40,000. More than one principal investigator (PI) is required in the Interdisciplinary category to be eligible for an award of $40,000. Interdisciplinary applications with one PI will be awarded a maximum of $30,000.
The online application, eligibility requirements, criteria for submission and additional information regarding the newly updated portal may be accessed via the University Research Committee website. Proposals must be submitted through the URC online application portal by Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2021.
Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Notification of awarded proposals is anticipated late April. Availability of awarded funds is anticipated to be four to six weeks after notification of the award.
