Emory Rehabilitation Hospital was awarded for excellence in clinical outcomes measures, patient satisfaction, volume growth and financial performance in 2018.

Emory Rehabilitation Hospital was presented with the President’s Recognition Award at the annual 2019 Select Medical Inpatient Rehabilitation Division CEO and Medical Directors’ Conference this spring in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The President’s Recognition Award was presented to only two hospitals out of 26 as an acknowledgment of overall excellence across clinical outcomes measures, patient satisfaction, volume growth and financial performance in 2018.

Some of those achievements at Emory Rehabilitation Hospital include:
  • 80.3 percent of the hospital’s rehabilitation patients are discharged home after their stay, a figure that ranks in the 87thpercentile nationally
  • Just 6.9 percent of patients are discharged to a skilled nursing facility, ranking in the 93rd percentile nationally
  • 90 percent occupancy rate for inpatients in 2018 (a 4 percent increase from 2017)
  • Nearly 130,000 outpatient visits in 2018 (an 8 percent increase from 2017)
“These amazing outcomes are only possible through the hard work and devotion of the entire team of dedicated professionals at Emory Rehabilitation Hospital,” says Byron Milton, III, MD, assistant professor of rehabilitation medicine at Emory and chief medical officer at Emory Rehabilitation Hospital.

“We are proud of our terrific group of employees and physicians who provide exceptional care daily to all of our patients,” says Eric Garrard, FACHE, PT, CEO of Emory Rehabilitation Hospital. “They are the heroes who help make all of these achievements possible.”
