Emory University ranked 20th among 968 institutions nationally in the 2019 Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Ranking, published September 5. Emory ranked 4th in the South out of 286 institutions.
According to the WSJ/THE, the ranking “puts student learning and success at its heart.”
Almost 20 percent of the WSJ/THE College Ranking relies on results of the THE Student Survey, “which examines a range of key issues, including students’ engagement with their studies, their interaction with their teachers and their satisfaction with their experience.”
The rankings are based on 15 factors in four key areas: school resources (30 percent), student engagement (20 percent), student outcomes (40 percent) and the learning environment/diversity (10 percent).
