Emory's Ebrahimi takes helm of Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors

Sherry Ebrahimi, director of Emory Conference Services and Housing Administration, has been elected president of the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I) for 2018-2019.

Ebrahimi formally stepped into her new leadership role at the conclusion of the ACCED-I 38th Annual Conference, held March 18-21 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International represents more than 1,300 campus professionals who design, market, coordinate and plan conferences and special events on the campuses of colleges and universities around the world.

As director of conference services at Emory, Ebrahimi plans educational conferences, camps, seminars and special events across campus during the summer months. She also helps market the campus to local, regional, national and international communities by bringing programs to campus that are external to the university. She also oversees all professional and managerial staff in the office and serves as a liaison to the division of Campus Life.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Ebrahimi earned a bachelor of arts degree from Emory College of Arts and Sciences and a master’s of science degree in higher education administration from Florida State University. She has served Emory in many capacities, taking over as director of university conferences in 2002.
