Marilyn Margolis, CEO of Emory Johns Creek Hospital (EJCH) has been elected as the new chairperson for the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce.
Margolis will lead the board in helping Johns Creek businesses connect, grow and thrive.
"I'm so honored to represent the Chamber of Commerce and facilitate partnerships with businesses in the community to help our city advance," says Margolis.
Margolis has worked for Emory Healthcare for more than 35 years. She began her career as a staff nurse in the Critical Care Unit and treated patients at the beside for 15 years.
In 2011, Margolis was named Chief Nursing Officer at EJCH and later became the COO. She's the recipient of the Nursing Management's Visionary leader award in 2007 and the Georgia Hospital Association's 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Since 2015, Margolis has served as CEO of the 110-bed acute care facility in the heart of Johns Creek. EJCH is staffed with more than 800 employees, 328 Emory faculty, 386 private practice physicians and 42 Emory Specialty Associate physicians, along with more than 150 volunteers. The hospital offers a comprehensive range of services including: emergency medicine, a birth center with a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, an infusion center, advanced cardiac and stroke care, vascular care, sleep medicine, rehabilitation, surgical services, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, pain center and a wound care center.
Margolis plans to work with Emory Healthcare and the chamber to provide opportunities and events for people in the community to gain clinical education units needed for certifications.
Founded in 2006, the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce serves more than 400 businesses in the area. The organization works to foster leadership development, facilitate business-to-business connections and develop a comprehensive business solutions center.
