Emory Surplus Property is having a summer sale, which translates into hot deals for the campus community, with 50 percent off nearly all merchandise through July and August.
Located in Building B on Emory’s Briarcliff Property, the Surplus Property program strives to divert campus cast-offs from local landfills by collecting donations of furniture and equipment and selling them back to the Emory community at a steep discount.
Last year, the program diverted an estimated 345.48 tons of surplus furniture from local landfills, according to Deena Keeler, Emory’s assistant director of auxiliary services.
The summer sale is intended to help clear out inventory for the end of the fiscal year. It offers savings on an ever-changing variety of merchandise, including chairs, desks, bookcases, filing cabinets, tables and other assorted office furnishings, says James Harper, administrative assistant for auxiliary services.
Facility hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Surplus Property is located at 1256 Briarcliff Road, Building B, room 140. Parking is available in Lot J.
Checks and money orders are accepted for payment.
