Workshop offers overview of Emory Caregiver Support Program

An overview of the Emory Caregiver Support Program will be the topic of a workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Room 1.432 at 1599 Clifton Road.

The program, presented by Emory WorkLife Resource Center, includes information on:

  • one-on-one caregiver coaching and support
  • professional care management
  • emergency back-up care
  • help with research
  • navigating Emory Caregiver Benefits
  • long-term care insurance
  • webinars
  • monthly educational workshops

Participants will learn how Emory University supports employee caregivers at this session. Topics include preparing to become a family caregiver and how to assess a caregiving situation, as well as how to plan, monitor and implement caregiving plans. This includes caring for individuals with memory impairment.

Identifying resources for caregiving inside and outside of Emory including local, state and national sources will also be explained. 

The workshop will explain the main points of Medicare and Medicaid; understanding end of life issues; and how to plan for your own long-term care.
