Local families and hospital staff attended the 8th annual Holiday Workshop at Emory Johns Creek Hospital on Friday, Dec. 4.
The event is held as part of Johns Creek’s Founders week celebration. The city officially became incorporated on Dec. 1, 2006. The next year, Emory Johns Creek Hospital partnered with the city of Johns Creek to celebrate the birth of the city.
This year’s Holiday Workshop kicked off with a tree lighting Friday evening, followed by incredible performances by choirs from some local elementary schools.
"Hearing the choral performances by the students from Woodward North, Dolvin Elementary and Findley Oaks Elementary school’s singing to rejoice in this season makes us realize all we have to be thankful for!" says Marilyn Margolis, CEO of Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
The Boy Scouts of America Cub Scout Pack 4143, which Emory Johns Creek Hospital charters, helped children at the holiday workshop create ornaments for a tree that will be donated to a needy family. Student volunteers from Northview High School also helped kids with arts and crafts and Santa was on hand for holiday pictures
Johns Creek Fire Department sold dinner plates at the annual event. All proceeds will benefit the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.
