Learn how to make, save, keep more money

Two workshops, one on managing money and one on personal income tax, are being offered by the Emory WorkLife Resource Center.

Both 90-minute workshops will be held in the Rita Anna Rollins Room on the 8th floor of the Grace Crum Rollins Building, School of Public Health.

“Getting Paid: Make and Save More Money” is Wednesday, Jan. 28, at noon. The session, facilitated by Alok Deshpande of SmartPath Financial, is designed to provide tips on how to make more money or find creative ways to spend less.

“This winter we have added a new session from the SmartPath Financial series to give employees even more valuable tips and resources to help achieve financial security,” says Aaronnette Jackson, human resource associate, about the “Getting Paid” workshop.

“Essentials of Personal Income Tax” is Friday, Feb. 13, at noon. Barry Franklin, CPA, will show participants how to maximize the benefits already available to them and how to use deductions and credits to reduce tax liability.

These workshops are part of Emory WorkLife Resource Center’s Finance Matters series, designed to educate Emory employees on topics related to personal finances by providing an understanding of money management principles.

The series addresses personal finance topics such as basic budgeting and tax preparation.

Jackson urges employees to keep checking the website for updates on the spring semester workshops schedule that will include topics such as mortgage savings, estate planning, and finding the best life insurance for individuals and families.
