Aerial utility lines along Clifton Road will be moved underground during a multi-month Georgia Power project starting Nov. 10 that is expected to continue until at least May 1, 2015.
The work involves Georgia Power and its contractor removing the aerial utility lines and placing them in an underground duct-bank that will run from North Decatur Road to Haygood Drive.
The work will take place from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays on short sections of Clifton Road starting at North Decatur Road and moving north to Haygood. One northbound lane will be closed during work hours, and flagmen and traffic control will be onsite.
All lanes on Clifton Road will be open and available at 6 a.m. each morning.
At the completion of the installation of the duct-bank, the aerial lines and unnecessary poles will be removed.
