John Worth, CPA, MBA, has been named associate dean of finance and administration at Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, effective October 1.
Worth has more than two decades of experience in business affairs in higher education, health care and consulting. He most recently served as the Associate Administrator and Director of Research Administration for the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Medicine. In this role, he was a member of the executive management team responsible for oversight of a $235 million clinical and research budget and oversaw business operations for more than 650 faculty.
"John is a seasoned executive who has a track record of excellence in all that he does, which makes him superbly qualified to lead business affairs at Emory's School of Nursing," says Linda McCauley, PhD, RN, FAAN, dean and professor of the Emory School of Nursing. "I know he will have a positive impact on our faculty, staff and students in this role."
Prior to joining the University of Pittsburgh, Worth held senior administrative positions at West Virginia University's School of Medicine, UPMC Magee-Women's Research Institute and Foundation, and East Carolina University's School of Medicine.
"I am very honored and excited to join Dean McCauley and her leadership team," says Worth, "and I look forward to working with her and the rest of my new colleagues at Emory University in assisting the School of Nursing to continue its trajectory in becoming a nationally recognized leader in nursing education and research."
Worth earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. Bonaventure University and a master's degree in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
