Workshops provide tips and resources on finances

The Emory WorkLife Resource Center offers a workshop series, Finance Matters, Sept. 5 through Oct. 10.

All sessions, which are part of the SmarthPath Financial series, are from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 1000 of the Claudia Nance Rollins Building.

The series "is specifically designed to educate Emory employees on topics related to personal finances by fostering an understanding of money management principles and providing valuable tips and resources to help employees achieve financial security," according to Aaronnette Jackson, WorkLife resource associate.

Two of the four sessions are new. "Picking Your 401(K) Investments" has not been offered previously. Part I of that topic will be Oct. 3 and Part II on Oct. 10.

"We select the topics based on feedback received from past attendees," Jackson says.

While The WorkLife Resource Center is currently unable to record the workshops, Jackson says, "We will post any handouts given out by the presenter online following the workshop."

Sessions and dates are:

  • Get Your Money Right (Building Your Financial Strategy) on Sept. 5
  • Bling on a Budget (Budgeting tools and tricks) on Sept. 19
  • Picking Your 401(K) Investments - Part 1 on Oct. 3
  • Picking Your 401(K) Investments - Part 2 on Oct. 10
