Fulbright workshops for faculty and staff set for March 3

The Office of International Affairs is offering two free workshops on Monday, March 3 for faculty and staff interested in applying for Fulbright grants.

Andy Riess, assistant director of outreach for the Fulbright Scholar Program, will be on campus to give a presentation on Fulbright Scholar grants for U.S. faculty and professionals and to answer questions about the program.

"These sessions filled completely last year, and we are fortunate to have Fulbright personnel on campus again this year," said Philip Wainwright, vice provost for international affairs. "They provide great information for any faculty members who are interested in applying for a Fulbright grant to help fund their research abroad."

Attendees will learn about teaching and research overseas, get tips on preparing Fulbright grant applications, find out about opportunities to host visiting Fulbright scholars at Emory and get advice on making contacts abroad.

Both workshops will take place in Room E208 of the Math & Science Center. Seats are limited, and registration is encouraged.

The first session will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m., and boxed lunches will be served. Register for the lunch session.

The second session will take place from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Register for this session.

The deadline for applications to the 2015-2016 Fulbright Scholar Program is Aug. 1. The program provides approximately 800 teaching and research grants each year to U.S. faculty and professionals in a variety of fields. Grants are available in more than 125 countries worldwide.
