Call for international awards nominations

The call for nominations for three international awards presented each year by Emory’s Office of International Affairs is now open.

Established by Madhu and Jagdish Sheth, the Sheth Distinguished International Alumni Award recognizes international alumni who have distinguished themselves in service to universities, governments, private sector firms, and nongovernmental organizations. The recipient must be highly distinguished in his or her field and have offered outstanding contributions to humanity, science, art, or human welfare. The nominee should also have been an international student while at Emory.

The Marion V. Creekmore Award for Internationalization is given to an Emory faculty member who excels in the advancement of the university’s commitment to internationalization. The award was established by the generous gift of Claus M. Halle and honors the work of Marion V. Creekmore, who served as Emory’s first vice provost for international affairs and as the director of the Claus M. Halle Institute for Global Learning.

The International Outreach Award recognizes professional staff who have made significant contributions to Emory’s internationalization through the programs, schools and units in which they serve, and who also extend Emory's reputation by contributing their expertise to international professional networks in their respective field.

All nominations are due Monday, July 1.

Winners will be honored during a special ceremony at International Awards Night on Monday, Nov. 18 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel.
