Closed since mid-May 2012, the Art of the Americas galleries at the Michael C. Carlos Museum is set to re-open with more than 460 works of art on display spanning 4,000 years, from 2000 B.C. to the 20th century, from the plains of Mexico to the mountains of Peru. New discoveries, new works of art and new interpretive displays mark the re-opening on Feb. 9. The museum will showcase new call cases as well as cross-cultural displays that put the objects into geographical context.
