Support sessions can ease holiday grieving

The Faculty Staff Assistance Program is offering holiday support sessions for anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one.

"Holidays can be challenging if you are grieving," says Robin Huskey, FSAP manager of education and outreach.

"Whether your loss is recent or past, feel free to come for a time of sharing and support, and to be reminded you are not alone. We will honor our loved ones and  learn ways to take care of ourselves during this holiday season."

The one-time sessions, which are for University and Healthcare employees, start Dec. 13 at these locations:

  • The Wellness Center, 1762 Clifton Road Building, Dec. 13, 4-5:30 p.m.

  • Saint Joseph’s Hospital, PIP Education Center, Dec. 13, 4-5:30 p.m.

  • Emory University Hospital Midtown, 3rd Floor Orr Building, Dec. 18, 4-5:30 p.m.

  • The Women's Center, 3rd Floor Cox Hall, Dec. 20, 3:30-5 p.m.

Huskey notes that these one-time sessions are "different from our typical six-session support group we offer periodically."
