Business improvement project recognized as best practice

Emory was recognized recently for one of its business practice improvements.

The University received a Best Practice award in the category of “Business Intelligence on a Limited Budget” for the implementation of Financial Interim Reporting Solution (FORS). The goal for this project was to use existing tools to meet the growing financial reporting needs on campus.

The University won the award from The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI), a community of practice for data warehousing and business intelligence, and was accepted on behalf of Emory by John Notarantonio, senior data warehouse developer.

The winning project was developed through a collaborative effort led by Emory’s University Technology Services Data Warehouse team along with representatives from Central Finance and departmental participation in focus groups.
